A fault which seriously affected Telenor's Norwegian mobile network seems to have been fixed as of Saturday evening, according to a statement on the company website.
The fault, which started on Thursday afternoon, affected both voice calls and SMS on its mobile network across large parts of its network across the country. The landline network was unaffected.
In a statement, the company confirmed that there hadn't been a complete outage but did say that voice and data traffice had "been significantly reduced".
The company said that preliminary analysis suggested that the error took hold following a software upgrade and controlled restart of a server for mobile broadband service, which then cascaded across the network.
According to the analysts at The Mobile World, Telenor had just over 3 million customers at the end of March 2011.
